Morning.
Firstly DON'T bother with BR to Banstead, as has been said in a
previous post it's a mile away (if you check out the
www.kickstartshow.co.uk site, in the directions section there is a
local map. The station is up on the top left corner and the show is
bottom centre. This is a fair march ('specially when you have to go
home with all the goodies you're gonna buy) and it means crossing the
A217 which is an extremely busy road. Eurgh)
FROM CENTRAL LONDON
Try if possible to travel direct to SUTTON.
If this is not possible, travel to EAST CROYDON, either get the
Tramlink from East to West Croydon, or walk. Tram = 3 mins, walk = 10
From West Croydon travel to SUTTON.
FROM SUTTON
When you exit SUTTON BR, for Buses turn left. Actually on the bridge
overlooking the railtrack are the bus stops. Bus numbers 80, 280 go
to Banstead High Street (there are others but my ageing memory fails
me right now).
There is a black cab rank outside if you've more money than
sense...............
ARRIVING IN BANSTEAD HIGH STREET.
If you look at that map again, on the right lower section you'll
see 'The Woolpack' PH. This is the start of Banstead High Street.
Now, on the bottom of the map, dead centre you can see Victoria.
This is the 'Victoria' PH which is the end of Banstead High Street.
IIRC there are 2 bus stops between the pubs.
From the Victoria it's about 1 minute.
If you need any further details mail me off list.
OH BTW. Banstead has secretly been twinned with Roysten Vasey (League
of Gentlemen and all that) so look out for Jobclub officials with pen
fetishes, dodgy Butchers and Local Shops for Local Peop......
well, you get the picture.
